Divine Feminine Mother Goddess

Divine Feminine Mother Goddess

By Deborah Sharma

Mother, I have missed your sweet sacred scent
Of maternal dynamic love which has been absent.
I cannot overcome this distant cold without your grace,
Only to be thawed by the light that emits from your face.

I plunged myself into an unbalanced existence,
Secured behind a bitter wall of resistance.
I was debilitated by a past scarred with harm,
So I spurned and denied your feminine charm.

Engulfed in repetition of a conditioned state,
I was unable to discern cosmic reality from fate,
So I misjudged your power and mistook your divine gifts,
Confusing them with damaging Earthly maternal rifts.

I plodded along adrift in self-pitying mourning,
Repressing my
Prakriti essence of devoted adoring,
I lay parched for nourishment of your benevolent nature,
I hungered for compassion to shroud me in rapture.

How can I compare a momentary heart-wrenching lack
To a love that restores balance and is eternally reflected back?
For Shakti empowers me to fight my demons and confidently thrive
Through her active energy of creation I courageously come alive

I honour this feminine love that nurtures and protects,
A lifeforce that emboldens faith and whose strength directs,
As I confront and conquer the darkness with her vigour,
I ask for blessing of intellect as I overcome ego with rigour.

Grounded to brilliant crimson vibration at my root,
I release oppressive insecurity as I transmute,
With inspiring joy that passionately blooms
I forge fearlessly ahead as new hope looms.

Thus, as I battle to awaken from false dreams,
We are reunited as mother’s cosmic energy redeems.
Wrapped in the warmth of rekindled love to be felt,
As the rigid barriers between us begin to softly melt.

Explanation

Shakti represents energy, ability, strength, effort, power, capability and is the primordial cosmic energy representing the dynamic forces that move through the universe. Shakti is the personification of the energy that is creative, sustaining, as well as destructive, sometimes referred to as auspicious source energy.  On every plane of creation, energy manifests itself into all forms of matter.

In Tantra, Shakti is worshipped as the Divine feminine that imbues every living being and deity with energy, power and creativity. Her divine feminine energy has no beginning or end and is in constant play.

Divine Goddess Mother’s dynamic love cannot compare to our conditioned, changeable earthly mother’s love.  It is unparalleled with earthly love since Shakti’s energy is pure, transcendent and absolute.  This poem reflects how I neglected my relationship with the divine feminine as I did not have a positive relationship with earthly mother so found it difficult to relate to a feminine maternal archetype.  However, this space needed to be filled and is precisely why I should not have shunned the divine feminine. Instead, cultivating a love for her with patience and focusing on the aspects of her divinity would help me to become more whole and complete in my own creative divine femininity inspired by her nature.
