Cocooned VS Leap of Faith

 Cocooned VS Leap of faith

By Deborah Sharma

Cocooned in comfort,
I hesitate taking the next leap,
but a decisive leap it must be
no more small steps that
have me teetering
on a tightrope
tumbling into regression.
Alas, just as I am progressing,
I retreat into my familiar cocoon
surely another day off won’t harm?
But it’s a day I’ve lost….again,
rejecting my own evolution.
I need to vault with vigour,
far from my cocoon’s beckoning
into a new hope that awaits,
but I can see only the fence,
so I remain somewhere between
miserable and simply satisfied
a leap away from jubilant joy
