A writers light

Is it our writing that improves
or are we getting better
at staying in divine silence,
guiding us to listen
to our whispering soul and
unlock the secrets of
our aching, passionate heart,
pouring them both out
from the hidden depths
of magical mystery into poetic reverie?
And as we speak with the true self,
we suddenly flourish with new confidence
to go forth in the world
shielded by that supportive light
that encourages us to articulate
and express ourselves in every way.
