Transition

Transition

By Deborah Sharma

In the midst of transition,
lingering green leaves
cling to Summers dynamic memory,
with rustic red leaves
on the crisp edge of pacifying Autumn,
from an energy of vitality,
winding down
succumbing to restful repose.

Trees instinctively sense
when to create
and when to release.
Do we know and follow,
when it is our time
to withdraw from activity
and retreat into stillness
of mind and body?
Or do we drain energy with
incessant movement
and constant rumination?

Steady the restless mind –
contemplate with introspection
on the wisdom of your season.

Seek quiet sanctuary
like that of a leafless tree,
wherein lies knowledge
and understanding

Unshackled, thus transmute,
do not renew, but become anew,

in the light of peaceful regeneration,
as trees know
there is a season to create
And a season to surrender
