In a frigid silent stillness,
Ice freezes nature’s shrillness.
Glistening in wicked boldness,
shutting out life in coldness.
Embrace a January hike in
Winter’s flow,
crunching through soft, powdery
snow
In the hushed lake’s stagnant
slumber,
She lays trapped under glacial
encumber
What lurks sleeping beneath water
and earth?
Awaiting Spring for the renewal
of birth.

Winter is a time when kapha dosha (earth+water constitution in Ayurveda), is likely to be elevated, leading to feelings of congestion and stagnation in the mind and body. It is a perfect time to witness, explore and connect with kapha in nature in order to gain a more universal understanding of this dosha:
