Lake's hopeful freedom

Lake’s hopeful freedom

By Deborah Sharma

Dullness of a wistful Winter Lake,
tired ice dissipates and break,
reflecting a melancholy feeling,
in a climate harshly stealing
the vibrancy of a healing light
that once elevated a mood so bright,
Though in the pit of a dark brood,
ponder the dismal grey mood,
its origins in the core festering,
observe the nagging pestering,
still try to break ice frozen,
search for relief once chosen,
as the lake once again will flow,
so the heart yet again will glow.
